My wife and I arrived in Cheshire in 1989 first living in Moulton and then in 1999 moving to Hartford. Our son had all his schooling at The Grange School.

Originally from London, my early education was in Lincolnshire before I obtained an honours degree in applied biology at Liverpool enabling me to work as a research scientist. However an opening allowed me to study as a dentist, which I did in Manchester.

After qualification I, eventually, was able to establish a brand new practice in Newcastle under Lyme. A postgraduate certificate in teaching in clinical practice and a diploma in coaching, enabled me to train new dentists and dental nurses within the practice. The practice became very successful wining national awards, and grew to have five surgeries offering both private and NHS treatment.

Having served that community for over 25 years, on retirement I focused on other forms of service. At present I am vice president of the Knutsford Rotary Club.

When the chance arose to help the parish council serve my local community, I took it.

I am grateful to the other council members in selecting me to be co-opted on to the council, giving me the opportunity to serve, and contribute to the Hartford community.
